What is God's mind on feminism?

I believe for anyone reading this post, you will have in one way or the other made your assumptions, postulated your ideas on feminism on the social media, random discussions with colleagues at work, with family members or even given a speech on feminism.

But have you ever consciouly assessed yourself on the knowledge you have on feminism and seek God's mind about it?

God is the Creator. Maker. Moulder. He is never mistaken concerning His creations. And being the perfect Creator, He knows what fit what and for what purpose. For instance, a pot and a frying pan are cooking utensils, however they've got their unique purposes.

Such is the case with gender. We've all got our unique purposes intended by the Maker. Genesis 1:27 " So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female He created them."

Genesis 1:31 " And God saw everything that He had made, and , behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

He made us plain and simple, making each creation  unique for its own purpose. Why then do we humans make ourselves very complicated? Ecclesiastes 8:29 " This is all I have learnt: God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated."

Feminism in the 21st century has complicated the modern day woman; she is vague about her identity, but argues that she knows and even go a really long way to make a point.

Yes, it is a trending issue that is widely advocated for and promoted by celebrities, Hollywood stars and icons from various walks of life. For example, the popular fictional writer and winner of many awards, Chimamanda Ngozi  Adichie is an unashamed and bold advocate for feminism.  Infact, it's now a politically controversial issue.

Now, don't get me wrong.

Humanity is beautiful. Defending and protecting the rights of the vulnerable is a wonderful cause, but do we have to go the whole way by infusing a victimized mentality in the present and upcoming generation of females in order for them to 'be aware' and 'defend' themselves.

This is not to deny the existence of gender discrimination that may exist, but to question the ripple effect: mentality of female victimhood.

Interestingly, statistitics has shown that 75% of young girls are anxious about potential discrimination which is resulting into defensiveness when matters of gender are being discussed.

There was a time I was reading a feminist write-up about raising a girlchild as a feminist. At first, I was intrigued and love the write up, but later the Holy Spirit began to show me some red-lights in what I was reading. I had to stop and go refer to the book of Genesis to see God's good intention when creating man and the woman. No competition, everyone's got their own place with their responsibilities. There are biological differences in our mental and physical make-up that cannot be denied or ignored.

There is something cunny about the devil; he is very subtle. If you're not well grounded in the Word of God, you will fall flat to your face.

You don't hold a conversation with the devil, you resist him. Yeah!  The Bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you.

In the name of feminism, the devil has subtly infused a rebellious and perverted spirit which negates God's purpose of the creation of man and woman.

I wouldn't be surprised if a teenage girl who has never been in an way been maltreated by men or in an danger of victimization in any way resents men. That is the generation of ladies that is being raised now.

As a young growing teenage girl I once had this problem; I resented men. I don't like them. I had this mentality that I don't need a man in my  life. Not that I had suffered in any way from any man, but I  just had that mentality.

After sometime, the Holy Spirit began to point out  to me that this was pride. I fought it a long time. It really  took grace for me to snap out of this mentality.

There is an image of modern day feminist which has been painted by celebrities, icons majority of which are females. However, many of these people use the media as a platform for expression of long standing grudge and bitterness towards the male specie because of their experiences as a result of some choices which they made themselves. At one time or the other, we've all made choices that produces consequences that we don't like, or wish could never happen.

A lot of lies had been sold out by the devil even to God's children which had  been bought and relishly consumed. What we don't even understand is that many of these people are advocates of the devil who win the hearts of unsuspecting children of God.

According to Dr Ade in a Tedtalk she gave, the fourth wave in the history of feminism has established the following myths:

1. Females are victims: gender victim mentality affects females in all areas of life. That is the reason many females are defensive in certain professions in the employment of females.

A lady once complained on social media about gender discrimination in employing sea-farers. In actual sense, posing this question: how many females applied for the job in the first place. If the applicants are 100 and 70% are males, you can be sure that  ceteris paribus, a larger percentage of men will be employed because a larger percentage of men  applied in the first place. I think it's high time we know we should stop focusing on equality of outcome, rather equality of opportunity.

2. Sexual promiscuity is the only way to express control over your own body. This is a terrible lie from the pit of hell, yet subtle. You shouldn't feel empowered by sexualization. "Real strength comes from honoring your body, respecting it and cherishing it and not putting yourself in situations that will make you feel sexually uncomfortable." Dr Ade. Abortion legalization all because I can control my body? Engaging in sexual activities that are indiscriminate because I own myself?  Come on. Our body is God's temple and we should take care of it as such.

3. Women needs empowerment: oops, you think this is not a myth. You do not need to be empowered, you are powerful." For God has not given the spirit of fear, but of POWER, love and sound mind."  The myth of women needing empowerment has made many  women always asking for more and neglect the innate and intricate creative ability and maximize it to the fullest. We'll discuss more about this in the coming post.

Succinctly, for male or female, our power lies in our choices. God Himself doesn't tamper with man's will: his ability to choose. Let's stop carrying a victimized mentality, let's stop playing victim. Build your confidence, teach the younger generation to be strong and resilient. BE STRONG, BE RESILIENT, BE DEFINED.

Advocate for true gender equality, because as there are bad and abusive men around, there are also wicked and aggressive women. Here is a fact, we are all capable of inflicting pain on one another, male or female gender regardless.

Let me part with this: Celebrate humanity, be kind, love people, help and advocate for the less privileged, promote equality opportunities. Let's stop promoting victimized mentality of the female gender.

  5. Feminism: the abused passion for change.

The idea (feminism) was just like once upon a time, Lucifer who was with God but fumbled.

Feminism WAS with a good intention but ruined by inordinate actions of the feminists...

In all, I must commend the effort and bless God's anointing on your hands for the words, especially 2 Timothy 1:7's illustration.

    God bless you!
