Friendship.......?

 "It is better to have a partner than go it alone

Share the work, share the wealth

And if one falls down, the other helps.

But if there's none to help, tough!"

Has there been any time when you're grateful for the gift of  friends? 

Or perhaps you've found your self in some sort of jeopardy because of friends? 

However it might have been,  friendship is a beautiful gift from God, though it has been hijacked by the devil and it's purpose thwarted which is manifesting in many ways in our world.

Nonetheless, we'll be focusing on  friendship and it's purpose as God intended.

There's a saying that goes that "when you walk alone, you go far, but when you walk with friends, you go far."

I happen to be an introvert by nature and I once didn't fancy having friends or association of any sort. I once was a lone ranger. I loved doing my things all alone and loved it remained that way.

But, when I got into the university, God began to work on that mentality for me. Infact, He strategically placed me in a room with some wonderful girls, and that has been the case for every new level I get to. I then came to realize that indeed, when you walk alone, you can go fast, but when you walk with friends, you go far.

Friends, most of the time are strategically given to us from God in the journey to destiny. To fulfill God's purpose, He knows we need the gift of men( I mean human resource, relationship), so it is dangerous to trivialize friendship or partnership.

"By yourself, you're not protected

With a friend you can face the worst

Can you round up a third?

A three stranded isn't easily snapped."

Ecclesiastes 4:12

I had phobia for friendship, but what I have come to realize in life is that to gain something worthwhile and substantial in life, I have to get out of my shell, my box.

It is expedient to say here that friends can also be planted by the devil to remove us from the path to fulfilment of God's purpose. So, deliberately ask God and allow Him to give you the gift of men ( friends, partners). Don't just choose friends based on what you see; remember what we discussed last week; if I didn't have my eyes, what would I do differently?

"Ask and it shall be given unto you

Seek, and you shall find

Knock and the door will be opened unto you."

Matthew 7:7

There are times when you're depressed and you need friends to encourage you; make you laugh. Times when you're sad and you need friends to cry with you, make jokes, pray with you and then you all sleep afterwards. Times when you're celebrating and you would need people to celebrate with you and identify with you. 

Let's be reminded here that some friendships are for a season. I don't mean to say you use and dump people. NO!

But don't be rigid. Don't just form a water-tight cacus that is not ready to accept new and purposeful personality. BE GUIDED!
