What's your conviction?

Happy new month πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Briefly we would be talking about something we subconsciously don't take note of......... conviction

What do you believe in?

What do you hold onto?

What is your conviction?

Do you just live life as it comes? Accept whatever comes? Or have you a standard which forms basis of your convictions?

Many of us have great and brilliant ideas, but we're not convinced about them. We shrink when challenges stare us in the face.

Someone once said " a man who doesn't stand for something will fall for anything."

What do you stand for? 🀷

The thing you believe in is what governs the course of your life, your greatest motivator; it is the driver of your ship.

For everyone that has been relevant in life  and is currently being relevant, there is a point of their lives that they have been down, but their convictions kept them going.

I recently watched a movie titled "Just Mercy". It's based on a true story. It started with the story of a black man in 1987, Munroe County, Alabama. He was stopped by the police on his way from work one eventful evening, arrested, accused of brutal murder of a teenager that occurred in that neighborhood and put on the death row. You would wonder " just like that?"

Yeah! Just like that.

A lot of people at that time were also falsely accused at that time and put on the death row without proper trial. People who had no voice. It was a period when discrimination against people of colour was really high. They were not seen as normal humans, and hence weren't treated as such.

A young lawyer came into the scene, just graduating from law school. He wanted to give legal assistance to helpless people with legal issues. He had great ideas about what he could do to help people, but, wasn't yet certain where he was to start from. Along the way, he found conviction; conviction in love, hope, humanity, justice.....conviction of the sacredness of human life. This helped him to focus, to channel his strength in a particular direction. This helped him to have a sense of purpose, and to know where had to start work from.

When the black man's case was retried in court, handled by the young lawyer, it seemed like an impossible feat because of the fierce opposition from the sheriff of police ( the person who arrested the black man in the first place) and the state prosecutor.

The bible says hope doesn't disappoint. Atimes, some hope might be crushed, but,WE MUST NEVER GIVE UP ON HOPE! And you won't give up on hope only when you have a conviction in your heart.

" Look at the proud; his soul is not straight or right within him, but the (rigidly) just and the ( uncompromisingly) righteous man shall live by his faith and in his faithfulness." Habbakuk 2:4 (AMP)

"....The just shall live by his faith." Habbakuk 2:4, Romans 1:17

At last, the young lawyer's conviction was affirmed in victory, making his convictions far stronger than before.

Again, I ask: what is your conviction?

Conviction of love, of justice, of purpose, of improvement..........

NEVER let go of your convictions. Hold on to it. Someday, you'd be glad you had in the first place. It's like fuel to your aspiration. It's a pointer to your purpose. It's a rudder to your ship.

But before I go, what forms your convictions; world value or God-value? God-value convictions last for lifetime, not changed by trends or circumstances. God-value convictions are consistent.

Again, you've got to make a choice. Choose God-value, choose true and faultless convictions; a pathway to purposeful and fulfilling life.

Think about it......
