Hope.
The ray of sun streamed into the room through the slightly opened window.
Charles opened his eyes and closed it back due to the harshness of light on his just awakening eyes. He rolled on his bed, covered his head with his blanket.
"What's the point of getting out of bed anyways? It's just going to be the same day as others had been." After being a first class graduate for 5 years, it has been a fruitless search of work from one company to another. 'We'll get back to you' has always been the reply after interviews.
"Don't give up. You are almost there", the still small voice told him.
"You need your hope at a time like this. It is what will launch you into experiencing the prowess of faith."
That strenthened him as he got up to communicate with the heavenly Father before he launches into the activities of the day after a daily routine of thirty minutes exercise.
"Although I may not see it happening now. I'll get there someday. I won't give up now. I'm very near my goldmine." Charles encouraged himself as he went to the shower to prepare himself in joyful anticipation of the day......................
Hullo dearieπ
About to give up? Don't do it!
Yes, you!
Don't!
Hope is a very great asset. It is what keeps us going, it is what makes us keep believing that it's not yet over. It's the currency always available to us at no cost, yet un-noticed and unused by us. Hope can make a man who is so ill to believe that he won't die of that illness, no matter what. With hope, no situation is irredeemable.
There's hope for a tree that is cut down, at the smell of water, it sprouts up again.
Someone once told me :" prepare for the worst, hope for the best." Even in the midst of the ups and downs of life, there is still the choice to hope. We can't stop life from having turbulences, but we can choose to hope that after every storm, there's a calm. Hope brings joy with it. Hope strengthens. Hope revitalizes.
"Faith is to be sure of what we hope for, to be certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
Have you ever pondered that if you don't have the capacity to hope, you can never exhibit faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please God?
Hope is powerful. Even in the darkest of tunnels, a ray of light is enough to renew strength and determination.
There have been many cases of suicide. As a result of hopelessness; many people take the seemingly easiest way out: death. But that doesn't solve the problem, because it leaves other people to keep battling with the problem; dumps it on them. And the cycle continues like that, more anger, bitterness and hopelessness.
Hopelessness has caged a lot of dreams, it has paralysed a lot of visions, terminated a number of aspirations.
Speak hope, live hope, communicate hope, revive hope, share hope..... believe hope.
Do you have a hope?
What's your hope?
What is it built upon?
Hopelessness is a dangerous disease, an ailment that the world suffers today.
You know why?
Because it has anchored its hope on the wrong foundation, which has failed it over and over.
Let's check this out:
'Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying,
"God has lost track of me. He doesn't care what happens to me"?
Don't you know anything? Haven't you been listening?
GOD doesn't come and go. God lasts. He's the Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn't get tired out, doesn't pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.' Isaiah 40:27-31(AMP)
It's one thing to have hope, it's another thing to have the hope right. To have a hope right, it must have the right basis -right foundation.
There are so many hopes, built on the wrong foundation. The Rock and standing foundation is Christ. He is the I AM THAT I AM.
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand.
Build your hope right; on Christ the solid Rock.
Take up your dreams again, revisit your vision, even if things don't make sense now, know that even in what seems to be nonsense, God brings out sense.
Succinctly, a life that hopes is a life that holds.
Till next week.....
