Friendship is not just about taking... it's also about giving.

There are times when people you have in your life are pests, rather than friends. Many are fiends in disguise.

A Yoruba adage says:

'Owo epo ni araye nba ni la

Won kii la teje'

Which translates thus:

"People of the world licks your hands of palm oil, not that of blood."

Beloved, the point I'm making is this: choose your friends wisely. Choose somebody you can grow together, choose people with whom you can walk together, people who share your dreams and visions. Friends who are not afraid to tell you the truth. Friends who don't ooze pretense and falsehood. Friends who love you for who you are, though seeks to add value to you and make you better. Friends that cry with you when you cry and laugh with you when you laugh. Friends who can pray for and with you. Friends who push you forward in life and not seek your downfall.

Yes, they may be scarce, but they do exist. However, one important pointer is needed; a compass to this bliss: Jesus!

You need Him.

Clearly He is the perfect Friend. That is undisputable, but He can lead you to make the right choice of friends. Pray that He leads you to the right friends, or lead the right friends to you.

We are already in the ship of 2022, you need friends that are goal-getters, not goal-drainers.

Someone once said:

" When you walk alone, you walk fast.

But when you walk with friends, you walk far."

"Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to do so?" Amos 3:3

"Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour. If either one of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 (MSG)

Also, are you willing to be a friend that will bless another's life?

Friendship is an investment.

Nonetheless, don't forget that Jesus is the perfect Friend.

Strength is for service, not status

Romans 15:1-2 (MSG) The sentence that struck me is this: Strength is for service, not status. I have realized that we are in the time where everyone wants to get some form of power or the other. We all want to become leaders in different parastertars of life.  Two days later, Uncle Sola arrived in Lagos, Nigeria. A lot of things were now different from how they were ten years ago when he left. It's quite sad that he was home in the midst of this condition. Had it been his brother was his hale and hearty self,  they would have toured the whole of Lagos together. But, there is still hope when there's life. He arrived in the hospital two minutes to 10am. He had been given the address and description of the hospital the previous day. He had a dislike for hospital environment since when he was a boy. He has the fear of injections and seeing nurses had always given him a scare; it still sometimes does.
