Episode Six: My Loving Lover π✨
EPISODE SIX: MY LOVING LOVERπ✨
Nurse Steve used the pulse oximeter to check the oxygen saturation level of Chief Begunro. It was 69%. She commenced oxygen administration to him immediately. Now, he was already gasping, like someone in hunger for air.
"Please, you need to go outside for a few minutes, don't worry, the situation is under control. " Nurse Steve addressed the relatives of the patient. Chief Begunro's wife was already crying, his son was trying to comfort his mother and at the same time bracing himself for the worst.
A phone rang. It was Chief Begunro's brother calling his son.
"Sir, in fact, you called at the right time. O jo wipe o ti yiwo o. "
"Yiwo bawo" his brother asked from the other end of the phone.
"He is already receiving oxygen. Although the nurse attending to him says everything is under control, but the way he is gasping for air is really scary."
"Is that so?" There was a pause. " If they say that they have the situation under control, then let's believe it is. I will be flying into the country in the next two days. My brother is a strong man, I know he will fight for his life. Be strong for yourself and the family, alright?"
"Ok sir." Bayousaid, sniffing now. The line went dead.
After about 30 minutes that the family had been told to stay outside, Nurse Steve went to address them
"Chief is now in a more stable condition, although he is still unconscious. Let's keep hoping for the best."
"Is my husband going to die? Ejo eso fun mi... just let me know and prepare my heart." Mrs Begunro said, still sobbing.
"Madam, I just told you to hope for the best."
Bayo's phone rang. It was uncle Sola, Chief Begunro's brother that called not too long ago.
"Bayo, so how is his condition now?" He asked from the other end of the line
"We were just told that he is more stable, and to hope for the best." Bayo replied
"Ok. Then let's pray and hope for the best. We have to stay positive."
"Yes sir." Bayo replied
Two days later, Uncle Sola arrived in Lagos, Nigeria. A lot of things were now different from how they were ten years ago when he left. It's quite sad that he was home in the midst of this condition. Had it been his brother was his hale and hearty self, they would have toured the whole of Lagos together. But, there is still hope when there's life.
He arrived in the hospital two minutes to 10am. He had been given the address and description of the hospital the previous day.
