EPISODE NINE: MY LOVING LOVER ✨πŸ’–

His cocky confidence and demeanor had not changed, he did not even seem to age, save for his more intense eyes revealing experience.

"Charles..." Sharon called his name again to confirm that he was the one she was truly seeing. After three years of disapprance from her life, his reappearence seems chaotic.

"In flesh and blood" Charles replied, as if helping her to complete the statement.

"What are you doing here?" She asked

"As you can see, I am acting on behalf of the CMD, Chief Collins."

Then, realization suddenly dawned on her. Charles Collins was the son of Chief Collins! She had never thought of the possibility

"Why did you invite me here?" Sharon asked, not willing to stay one more moment in the room.

"What's your schedule like tomorrow? I'd like to take you out on lunch tomorrow if you don't mind."

"What...?" Sharon's jaw dropped as she looked at Charles. Who and what did he think he is? This guy is incredible!

EPISODE NINE: MY LOVING LOVER ✨✨πŸ’–

The Haunting Hunter

Ola arrived home from the business trip he had gone for two weeks. It was nine minutes past 4pm. His wife had not returned from work. He went into the room upstairs to freshen up. He would come downstairs later to grab something to eat, then make something for dinner for himself and his wife.

He changed into  blue shorts and a white T-shirt. He checked his phone again, the time was 4:30pm. He had to hurry, his wife would be home in not less than thirty minutes, so he can fix something for them to eat. Ola had always enjoyed cooking. He is the firstborn of his family with two younger brothers. And their mum had ensured that they all knew how to cook, "cooking is not only for females you know, you have to learn this skill for yourself, and also to be of assistance to your wife later in the future. When you know how to cook, you'll avoid the temptation of looking for a girlfriend that will be cooking for you in school; and many men's stomach had been a trap for them."  His mum would always say.

He went into the kitchen, and directly to the fridge. He had been listening to 'Loved by You ' by Travis Greene on his phone with his earpods. He would connect it to the home stereo later. He grabbed a bottle of chilled yoghurt, blessed and opened it. He opened the freezer and saw that his wife had packaged stew, egusi soup, ewedu soup, chicken and beef in different plastic plates that could last them a week. He smiled as he remembered the words of his wife: "it's much more easy to grab something in the freezer to eat after a long day at work and bad traffic in this Lagos."

Ola took the plastic pack of egusi soup which is now frozen, stew and beef, and placed them on the clean white cabinet in the kitchen. His wife always ensured the kitchen is sparkling clean. He began to boil some water in the electric kettle to defrost the frozen soup and stew and also to make some eba, he prefered to defrost soup, and then warm in a pot than use a microwave. He rubbed his hands together as he reached for his phone to put a call through to his wife.

"Babe......" He started

"I'm sorry honey, I'm still at the hospital.....in the middle of something." Sharon replied.

"Alright babe....will be expecting you."

"Ok, love you" and she cut the call.

'She seems to talk less these days.' Ola thought to himself as he went to get garri to make some eba for himself and his wife.

Sharon placed her phone back in her scrub pocket.

"Sharon, I am not asking for much, I just want you to give me a chance."

Charles had been on her neck for a romantic relationship since the time he summoned her at the CMD's office. Every other person in the hospital had seen his arrival at the time when the hospital needed good leadership as a relief, but to her, it was a peril.

"What sort of stupid thing are you saying. I am married. You are my past Charles. Ola is my present and my future. There are many beautiful ladies out there, go get one. But leave me alone. I'm a married woman for God's sake...." She raised her ringed finger for him to see "married", she repeated the word for emphasis.

"Ever since I left for Canada, you never left my mind and thoughts. It was a struggle to focus on other things back there. And do you think it's just a mere coincidence that you happen to be working in my father's hospital. I love you Sharon, and I believe fate has brought us together again for me to make things right. I have always known that you are mine..."

"Stop right there Charles, I am not yours: never been and never will be." Sharon cut him short.

He tried to move close to her in an attempt to hold her by her shoulders. Sharon stepped back instinctively. She had known Charles to be aggressive, and she was not going to take chances. Once bitten, twice shy.

"I mean what am I still doing in your office? Stay away from me Charles. I am an unachievable feat for you." She said as she hurried out of the room and slammed the door behind her.

Charles smiled as the door closed, he rubbed his chin with his thumb and index finger. "You are mine, and always will be." He chuckled as he went back to his seat.
